Berkenstocks
Since 1897, Berkenstocks have been around and have become world-famous for its styles and colors that can please even the choosiest person. From completely enclosed shoes to clogs and sandals, there are many kinds of Berkenstocks and many feature uni-sex designs. These shoes are likewise known for their unique fit and comfort but to first time owners, these shoes need some getting used to as it can cause your feet to hurt and give you blisters if your feet cannot properly adjust to them. Well, I know I did, my first time with a pair of Berks was quite unpleasant and it was due to the fact that I did not break them in and I didn’t know that I needed to do that.
I was so excited when I bought my first pair of Berkenstocks because I have been dying to wear one since a lot of people at work were talking about them. During fitting, it felt good wearing them and there wasn’t any indication that I’d get blisters from them. I got the pair and I was so pumped to wear them come Monday at work. So came Monday, I wore it to work, initially there wasn’t any problem but after several minutes of walking, I started getting a few blisters and had to walk with a limp just to avoid stepping on them. I was so angry when I got home because my feet were killing me, I nearly threw away the shoes but remaining calm I searched the internet on solutions for this problem. I learned that moistening my Berks can help speed up the process of breaking them in and I tried using them for shorter amounts of time which I gradually increased as my feet got used to them. To save me from another feet killing experience, I brought a pair of my old shoes to use as an alternative if ever that happens again.

Berk Sandals
Since I started breaking my first pair of Berkenstocks in, my feet has slowly gotten used to the feel of these shoes and so far, so good, not much blisters. I’ll always remember though to break them in when I get my next pair of Berks.
